Runny Babbits Quilts make a very special gift

One of our Runny Babbits quilts makes a unique and very personal gift!
Not only are you giving a practical gift, it’s also highly decorative and can become a treasured heirloom. A gift with lots of childhood memories and associations.

Traditionally made, patchwork quilts are truly beautiful.

Many less expensive quilts are made using synthetic wadding with the layers very simply stitched together in straight lines.

We make our quilts from 100% cotton fabric with best quality cotton or high cotton-mix wadding (unless otherwise stated). Cotton is far more comfortable for baby to sleep under. They are then quilted on our longarm quilting machine with beautiful and sometimes very intricate stitch patterns. Not only does this enhance their natural beauty but most of all it gives them that traditional texture and handle. A quilt made in this way adds that romantic finishing touch to a nursery.

While we don’t recommend a quilt as the baby’s main bedding, until the baby is able to sit up independently or it is 1 year or older, a quilt can be used for cuddle time, tummy time and as a playmat.

For the intervening period we produce lined patchwork blankets you can use from birth, many in matching designs. You can then be use them as a travel blanket when the quilt becomes the main bedding.

Cushions are also available to match or co-ordinate with many of the quilts, adding that touch of luxury to the nursery.
